Creamy Cherry Tomato Pasta

Anything with “creamy” and “pasta” in the name makes me happy! This dish is quick and easy, especially if you used pre-cooked chicken, and is always a crowd pleasure with adults and kids. The addition of hummus and mustard makes the flavors pop and elevates the to be more than just your normal “creamy sauce”. Play around with the types of hummus and mustard you use and create a recipe you will love and use over and over!

Creamy Cherry Tomato Pasta


  • 3 cups rotini pasta
  • 10 oz cherry tomatoes about 15-20 cheery tomatoes
  • 1 lb chicken I use rotisserie chicken to make this dish super quick, but any pre-cooked chicken will work
  • 1/2 red onion
  • 1 cup mushrooms
  • 1 cup whipping cream
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup pasta water
  • 1 1/2 tbsp hummus use your favorite kind, but I prefer pine nut hummus
  • 1 tsp dijon mustard
  • salt
  • pepper
  • red pepper flakes


  • Sauté tomatoes, onion, and mushrooms until tomato skins are peeling off and onion and mushrooms are cooked through.
  • While the vegetables are sautéeing, cook the pasta in boiling water for 10/12 minutes in separate pot.
  • Add rotisserie chicken (or any pre-cooked chicken), red pepper flakes, salt, pepper, whipping cream, milk, pasta water, and parmesan to vegetables.
  • Mix until smooth creamy sauce consistency (add more parmesan or whipping cream to your liking).
  • Add hummus and mustard, starting with small amounts until it tastes to your liking.
  • Mix pasta in to the sauce and enjoy!
